Real Madrid superstar's mother, Fayza Lamari, spoke about the toll the fame is taking on Kylian's private life, and disclosed what nickname she'd given him and why he didn't have a girlfriend

Kylian Mbappe is one of the most popular players in the world, and most people would instantly trade lives with him, having only his fame, football skills, and money in mind. But what about his struggles? Just like his fortune and glory, his problems are way bigger than those of a regular person.

The Frenchman rose to fame at an early age at Monaco and has been coping with being a celebrity for years. Unlike other superstars like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappe doesn't have a life partner, so he has to fight his battles all alone.

His family is, of course, always there, but they cannot help him when it comes to the toll the fame is taking on Kylian's private life. Speaking at an event in the French capital, his mother, Fayza Lamari, revealed that her son's personal troubles saddened her as well as that she talked to him about the "girlfriend matter."

"I had a discussion with him last year when things weren't going very well. I asked if he didn't want to have a girlfriend. He replied, 'do you see a woman in this mess?' Sometimes he'd drive around the ring road in a 206 just to see what it was like. He can't even walk down the street anymore. It makes me sad," she said via Daily Mail.

Additionally, she admitted to noticing the exact moment when she realized her son's glory and an interesting nickname she had given him.

"During the 2018 World Cup, I was home along. When I saw him walking down the Champs-Elysees, I knew he was slipping away. I called him Justin Bieber because he went straight from Bondy to the Royal Monceau. I felt like he I was in a movie," Fayza stated.

Mbappe himself often spoke about his struggles. In his recent interview with L'Equipe, he had touched on the topic, pointing out differences between life and football and claiming this sport would have repulsed him had it not been for his immense passion.

"It's our environment and we can't change it. I'm fatalistic about what the world of football is, but not about what life is. Life is magnificent. Football is what it is."

"I like to say that people who go to the stadium are lucky enough to 'just' come to see a show and not know what goes on behind the scenes. Honestly, if I didn't have this passion, the world of football would have disgusted me a long time ago," Mbappe admitted via Daily Mail.
