Onchwari open to leaving beleaguered Zoo FC

Zoo FC centre back Alex Onchwari is considering ditching the club for top flight football once the transfer window after the beleaguered outfit was relegated to the Division One league.

The club, was heavily fined and demoted to the third tier by the global body for apparently failing to abide to last year's ruling from Zurich that ordered for their removal from the top flight and relegated to the Division One.

Prior to the demotion, the club had withdrawn from the second tier citing integrity of the competition, a move that would have ordinarily attracted sanctions from the government-installed managers.

With Zoo's participation in the third tier not automatic, the players find themselves squeezed in between a rock and a hard place and already, a good number are said to be mulling the possibility of leaving.

Among those who are ready to receive and study offers is Onchwari who nearly left the outfit last year following the flashes of brilliance he displayed in his maiden season in his maiden season in the top flight.

"As players we find ourselves in a very tricky situation. I really wanted to help the club get promoted to the top league but unfortunately, we had stopped playing by the time FIFA confirmed our demotion. With the blessings from the management, I hope that I be back to the top flight next season, " he said.

Boost for Zoo FC as Onchwari is set to rejoin camp

National Super League side APS Bomet and Kibera Black Stars are reportedly interested in signing the towering centre back.

Last year, the player was linked with a move to Kariobangi Sharks, with Mathare United also interested in his signature.
