On the spot: Kane presents himself to the Bayern fanbase with a brace to beat Augsburg

Bayern Munich defeat the underdogs 3-1 as their newest signing makes no mistake

The excellent premiere at Werder Bremen paved the road to success for Harry Kane in the Bundesliga, and the former Spurs captain definitely feels like at home.

And on Sunday afternoon, he was given a chance to introduce himself to Bayern Munich's fanbase at packed Allianz Arena in a 3-1 win against Augsburg.

The England international netted a brace, the first one from the spot, to continue his goal-scoring tally.

Albeit written off even before the kick-off, the underdogs did show courage and determination to confront the Bavarian giants.

Augsburg's striker Demirovic had the first, very promising chance 27 minutes into the game, but his effort went wide.

And the punishment was awful and bizarre.

The way Augsburg conceded the opener is just beyond the words. Sane fired inside the penalty area, the keeper saved it for a moment, but the ball deflected off defender Felix Uduokhai, hit the post and went just an inch beyond the line as Uduokhai failed to clear it on time.

That was a sign for Bayern to pile some more pressure on the vulnerable defensive line of their rivals, causing a penalty eight minutes after the opener.

Who else than Kane was accurate from the spot to double the lead. That was probably his first of many more goals at Allianz Arena and the second in this Bundesliga season.

Thomas Tuchel's side routinely slowed down a bit after the interval, controlling the game's tempo and possession. Gnabry fired a lovely header around the hour mark, but the rival's custodian reacted exquisitely, just like a minute later when Upamecano took his chances inside Augsburg's area.

However, not even Augsburg's arguably best player today could do anything faced with Kane in a one-on-one situation. It was a three-piece action, involving Coman and Davies in the build-up, and the experienced striker slotted it charmingly to make it 3-0 for the standing ovations at Allianz Arena.

The guests only managed to bag one near the end for a tolerable 3-1 loss.
