OM(G): Marseille annihilate Metz for fourth Ligue 1 triumph in a row
Reading Time: 1min | Sat. 04.10.25. | 20:13
Three second-half goals seal the deal for Roberto De Zerbi's side, which is on a serious run
If there's a bad moment for the international break, it's definitely this one. At least, if you ask Roberto De Zerbi.
His Olympique Marseille are on such a fantastic run that the Italian tactician is probably disappointed about the hiatus ahead of them due to World Cup qualifying games.
OM clinched their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 win on Saturday by crushing Metz 3-0 at their home ground.
After a goalless first half, the visitors scored three goals in the second half to, at least temporarily, return to the top of the French first division.
Igor Paixao broke the deadlock a few minutes into the second period, before Matt O'Riley scored his first goal for OM. Amine Gouiri added a third to kill the game, which lasted a bit longer than expected due to crowd trouble following OM's third goal.
