Sharks have produced top scorers on three different top scorers since promotion in 2017.

A different cast but the same old script is being witnessed in Kariobangi Sharks this season with Felix Oluoch well clear in the top scorer’s charts. The forward opened up on the secret behind the club produces goal poachers.

Since garnering promotion back in 2017 Sharks have produced top scorers on three occasions with Masud Juma winning the Golden Boot in the same year before Eric Kapaito did the same a year later and repeated the feat in the 2020-2021 season.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Oluoch revealed that the midfielders have made it possible for strikers to bang goals week in week out and admitted that Eric Kapaito left a legacy worth emulating.

“Most of the goals we score are majorly because of our strong midfield, our midfielder really help us (forwards) a lot, most of them are creative and you find that the goals we are scoring as strikers have been put on a plate for you,”

“Kapaito left as a good legacy and we are all trying to fit in but it is challenging, we are putting in our best to replicate what he did for the club and the good thing is that we are settling in well,” said Oluoch.

The forward joined Sharks from AP Bomet in the National Super League (NSL) and has hit the ground running in the league has he currently has six goals to his name.

He remains the only player to have claimed a hat-trick in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) that he bagged in the 6-0 win over Mathare United.

Oluoch added that he has set himself a target of 17 goals this season leaving him with 11 goals to score in the 30 games remaining this season.

“I have set a target of 17 goals this season and once I get to that mark I’m hopeful that more will come,” added Oluoch.
