The Al Duhail forward will be up against nine other players in the Goal of the Tournament award.

Following an imperious Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League campaign, Kenyan international Michael Olunga has been nominated for Goal of Tournament.

The former Gor Mahia forward recently bagged the Champions League Golden Boot after plundering nine goals despite Al Duhail exiting the tournament in the Group Stages.

To vote for Olunga, one needs to visit the AFC official portal and head over to the bottom of the page and click on his name.

Olunga will face stern opposition from nine other players who have been nominated for the Goal of the Tournament with voting set to be closed on Friday 10 December at 8 PM (EAT).

The 27-year-old’s freekick against Al Ahli Saudi that was drilled hard and low from just the edge of the box earned a place in the Goal of the Tournament award.

“In a tense final group stage encounter between Qatar's Al Duhail SC and Al Ahli Saudi FC, it was the competition’s leading scorer who broke the deadlock,”

“Michael Olunga lined up a free-kick from 25 yards out and powered in a shot underneath the wall and past Mohammed Al Owais for his ninth and final goal of the campaign,” read a statement from AFC.

The former Japanese Most Valuable Player (MVP) has extended his goal poaching instincts to Qatar where he currently leads the goal-scoring charts with 12 goals from just seven goals.

The awards keep on streaming in for Olunga as he was voted the Qatar Stars League (QSL) October/November Player of the Month.
