Olunga included in Champions League Team of the Week

With his brace, Olunga now has four goals in the tournament.
Following his brace in the 5-2 evisceration of Iranian outfit Sepahan, Kenyan international Michael Olunga who plies his trade in Qatar with Al Duhail was included in the AFC Champions League Team of the Week.
The former Gor Mahia forward looked to rediscover his devastating form in Asia’s premier club competition after a slow start which was a contrast to his debut campaign last season.

Olunga bagged nine goals last season despite his team being bundled out in the Group Stages and went on to secure the competition's Golden Boot.
The 28-year-old was included in Matchday 6 Team of the Week which marked the final group stage game as his teammate Edmilson Junior also earned a place in the team.
A statement from Al Duhail revealed that the two were recognized by the AFC Champions League for their exploits in the final group clash.
“Edmilson Jr and Michael Olunga are in the perfect squad for the sixth and final round of the AFC Champions League group stage,” read a statement from Al Duhail.
Having sealed a place in the knockout phases of the competition Duhail are set to face fellow Qatari side Al Rayyan in February 2023.
