The Glamour Boys will hope to bounce back when they face Kariobangi Sharks in their subsequent league fixture

Shabana FC head coach Peter Okidi has expressed deep concern over the growing injury list, within his squad, and hinted at initiating an internal investigation to establish the root cause of the setbacks, that continue to hamper the team’s progress.

The Kisii-based outfit was once again forced into substitution during their weekend clash against Mathare United, after promising Kenya U-20 forward Ezekiel Omuri sustained an injury.

Omuri’s exit saw Gilbert Abala take his place late in the game, joining a growing list of injured players that includes; captain George Onyango, Mark Oduor, and star striker Brian Michira.

The absence of these key figures was telling as the Glamour Boys succumbed to yet another narrow 1–0 home defeat, their second successive loss of the season following up on Posts Ranger's 2-1 defeat a week ago.

Further, they lost 2-1 to AFC Leopards in the course of the week.

The defeat stretched Shabana's winless streak to four matches.

Speaking to Azam TV after the match, the former Kakamega Homeboyz and Nakuru Bucks tactician admitted the spate of injuries has disrupted team balance and performance.

“Indeed, it is true that injuries are affecting us. We now want to know the exact sources of these injuries despite allowing players adequate recovery time. To be honest, these setbacks are costing us," Okidi stated.

Reflecting on the loss, Okidi admitted defensive lapses contributed to the decisive goal, scored by former Shabana forward Dennis Okoth, whose angled shot crept into the net, a goal the coach described as “avoidable.”
