Ojok believes resurgent Tusker will retain league title

Despite trailing log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz by eight points, Tusker FC forward Deogratious Ojok believes the Brewers can still retain the title at the end of the season.

The reigning league champions had a challenging start to the season that saw them battle at the wrong end of the table but have since thrown themselves back into the title race with impressive performances.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ojok noted that with 11 games left to play, Tusker still stands a chance of defending their title and repeating the feat they achieved back in 2012.

“We can still retain the title because we have more games, we have like 11 games left and the eight points is not a huge task, we can still recover it back.

I joined Tusker and played some games but because of small injuries that were putting me down I was not playing consistently, but I have come back strong to score twice against Wazito,” said Ojok.

Tusker are currently the most in-form team in the league having gone 11 games without tasting defeat with their defence being sturdy, keeping 10 clean sheets in the process.

Ojok is also hoping to form a formidable partnership with Ibrahim Joshua who has scored eight goals which earned him a call to the Tanzania National Team during the international break.

“When I came I started two games alongside him but due to injuries, we have not played that regularly and we are continuing to work on our partnership,” added Ojok.
