English League One forward Aaron Morley netted added-time winners in consecutive rounds, representing two different teams against the same opponent!

English Premier League is (by far) the most popular football league in the world. However, sometimes interesting stories come from competitions that are out of the spotlight. The following one, precisely, occurred in England's third tier, League One.

On the first day of 2025, Wycombe hosted Exeter, beating the rivals from the far south of the country 2-1, behind Aaron Morley's added-time penalty goal. Three days later, the popular Grecians played at home, awaiting Bolton at their St James Park (don't mix it up with Newcastle's ground).

Exeter were 1-0 up until the 88th minute when the visitors equalized, and then, a deja vu happened. Morley, this time wearing Bolton's jersey, scored in the 91st minute, making it 2-1 and winning the game for his crew - once more against the same rival!

However, as odd as this may sound, everything went according to the rules, as Morley was loaned out to Wycombe by Bolton. Fate - or some more potent force - wanted the 24-year-old to face the same opponent in his last match with the Chairboys and his first with the Trotters and score injury-time winners in both clashes. Hence, we now know where Morley is not welcome.
