National Super League side Soy United have appointed former Muhoroni Youth, FC Talanta and Ushuru FC tactician James ‘Odijo’ Omondi as their new coach.
The relegation battlers had earlier been linked to former Harambee Stars coach James Nandwa but it appears that they failed to reach an agreement and they have now opted for Odijo who is known for his entertaining brand of football.
Omondi reported for duty today and was at the dugout when his team went down 1-0 to Gusii United at Bukhungu Stadium and the tactician says he noted lots of positives in how the team played despite going down at their backyard.

“I arrived today at 1 pm, two hours before the game and so I did not really have time to see the boys in training and prepare for the game. I was however impressed by what I saw in the game and I know the things that we need to change and we will do that in the next few days,” he told Mozzart Sport.
Odijo is happy to be back to Soy. He coached the team in 2018 while playing in Division Two and he says Soy is like home for him.
“Soy is my home, I was here in 2018 when the team was in Division Two, I left them top in the league when I moved to FC Talanta and they earned a promotion that season. This is a team I love and I am happy to be back here to continue with the project that we started,” he added.
Next for them is an away game against Silibwet.
