The Turkish gem lacks minutes in the star-studded Real Madrid squad and could make the same move the Norwegian midfielder made a few years ago

Martin Odegaard is a world-class player and his absence, due to an injury, has definitely affected Arsenal in recent weeks. Since arrival to the Emirates back in 2021, the Norwegian attacking midfielder has evolved into one of the most influental Premier League players.

Before that, he played just eight times during his six-year spell at Real Madrid. The most decorated club in the world sent him on several loans, and he never managed to establish himself as a regular due to fierce competition in the Los Blancos squad.

His move to Arsenal proved to be nothing less than fantastic, as he got the necessary time and space to develop and showcase his immense talent.

Now, it seems we're getting closer to a similar scenario with another second-to-none youngster, Arda Guler. The 19-year-old Turkish prodigy joined the Royals in 2023 and has collected only 17 appearances for Real Madrid so far, with most of them being garbage-time cameos, like the one against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night when he came on seconds before the added time when the game was already wrapped up.

This 'traffic jam' in Real Madrid's midfield could trigger Guler's frustration, and it may not be long before it gets out of hand.

For now, he is focused on staying at Santiago Bernabeu, convinced the things will work out just fine. However, if his playing time remains limited, he could look for a chance elsewhere, and just like in Odegaard's case - the solution could be the Gunners.

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Liverpool are both monitoring Guler's situation at Real Madrid, as they believe that a transfer opportunity could open in the next couple of years.

Both EPL slots have scouted the Turkish playmaker in recent months, so they are on top of the situation. Shall we see this idea developing into something real in the near future? The time will tell.
