Barasa has scored eight goals so far this season

Trailing the current league leading scorer by just three goals, Nzoia Sugar FC forward Levis Barasa has opened up on his planned route to land the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) Golden Boot.

The former Vihiga Bullets forward has been a revelation for the Millers this season, scoring more than a quarter of their goals.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Barasa revealed that he plans to score nine goals in the second leg and finish the season with 15 goals to his name.

“I have already set my target of scoring nine goals in the second leg and I have three goals so far and I had set myself a target of scoring three goals after every five games. That will bring my total to nine goals and if you add my tally in the second leg I will have 15 goals which will leave me satisfied,” said Barasa.

The forward has already scored eight goals this season and with Yema Mwana on 11 goals, he will hope that the Kakamega Homeboyz forward does not add to his tally.

Barasa noted that he has been harbouring dreams of winning the Golden Boot having overcome the adversity of going for almost a year without pay and thought of quitting football.

“Winning the Golden Boot is something that I have been dreaming of for a while because many people have doubted me but I know my capabilities.

I want to announce myself to Kenyans because it has been a long road to where I am and God has now given me the chance which I have to take,” said Baraza.
