The forward has three goals to his name and is Nzoia Sugar's top scorer.

Levis Barasa set social media ablaze with his bizarre unveiling when he joined Nzoia Sugar FC but he claims the ridicule did not affect him.

The forward was a deadline signing back in November after being roped in from Vihiga Bullets and posed for a photo with a bag of sugar from Nzoia Sugar.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Barasa revealed that the negative comments on social media did not get into his head admitting that some wished him well on the move despite the unveiling.

“That did not affect me, in life there are people who wish you well and others who want your downfall and never to succeed,”

There are some who encouraged me and there are also some who ridiculed me but I consider all of them fans and I respect whatever they say,” said Barasa.

The forward has already proved his doubters wrong as he bagged a hat-trick in the 3-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks which earned Nzoia their first win of the season after nine rounds of matches.

The former Chemelil Sugar FC forward is looking to bag the Golden Boot award and breaking the goal scoring record would be a bonus for him.

“I have set my sights on the Golden Boot, I would love to break the scoring record but realistically I have set my target on eight goals,” added Barasa.
