At Mombasa Sports Club, Mombasa United reinforced their dominance at the summit with a 2-0 victory over visiting Kabati Youth FC.

Goals from Mayson Andala in the first half and Samuel Atta in the second proved decisive, securing crucial points in their relentless promotion push.

The win elevated coach Gilbert Selebwa’s side to 52 points, maintaining a three-point cushion over second-placed Migori Youth.

For Kabati Youth, the result deepened an alarming slump, following last weekend’s 9-0 thrashing by Fortune Sacco, and plunged them further into the relegation mix in their maiden second-tier campaign.

Meanwhile, at Awendo Green Stadium, the Mozzart Bet Derby produced high octane drama as Migori Youth edged Soy United FC 3-2 in a pulsating encounter.

Red-hot forward Syphas Otieno continued his sensational form, opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 12th minute to take his season tally to 15 goals.

Soy United responded with a stunning strike from Clinton Orrifah, and struck yet regain just before halftime through a long-range thunderbolt from Alfred Ratolo to take a 2-1 lead the break.

The second half saw Vincent Wanga level matters with a well-timed header, setting the stage for a dramatic finale.

With the match seemingly destined for a stalemate, former Kakamega Homeboyz and Mara Sugar winger Mike Isabwa struck late to hand Migori Youth all three points.

The victory lifted the hosts to 49 points, solidifying their status as serious contenders for promotion and the NSL title.

Soy United, conversely, extended their winless run to six matches and remain tenth with 33 points.

Elsewhere, at Embu Stadium, 3K FC pulled off a crucial 1-0 triumph over MOFA, thanks to Newton Njue’s first-half strike.

The win keeps 3K FC in fifth place with 40 points, just one shy of the automatic promotion slot, and sends a clear message of their ambitions.

MOFA, despite remaining third, now face a daunting eight-point gap behind Migori Youth and trail leaders Mombasa United by eleven points, making their promotion challenge increasingly uphill.
