NSL: Mara Sugar decimate Silibwet to go top

National Super League side Mara Sugar extended their hot start to the current season as they secured back-to-back wins on Saturday, October 7, thanks to a big 4-1 victory over bottom-placed Silibwet Leons at the Silibwet Green Stadium.
James Olweny gave the visitors the lead inside 10 minutes, before Mathias Isogoli doubled the lead nine minutes later.
Olweny was on target once again, scoring from a Drona Openda assist after 34 minutes, but Stephen Mukisa had a goal back for Silibwet in the first minute of first half added time.
The game was over when Philemon Nyakwakwa buried an Olweny pass for 4-1 in the 49th minute, sealing a victory that took Mara Sugar to the top of the NSL standings with 10 points.
Gusii FC 1-0, Dimba Patriots
Gusii FC rebounded from last weekend’s victory against Mombasa Elite with a 1-0 victory over Dimba Patriots in a game played at Cardinal Otunga High School.
Matthew Tegisi scored the only goal in the 57th minute, securing a win that pushed his team to sixth on the log with six points.
Vihiga Bullets 0-3 Kisumu All Stars
Following their first win of the season against Migori Youth last week, Kisumu All Stars made it two on Saturday at the Mumias Sports Complex after seeing off 13th-placed Vihiga Bullets 3-0.
Michael Karamor gave the visitors the lead in the 33rd minute before Noah Ng’endo and Christopher Onyango added two goals in the second half to see All Stars rise to third on the table with seven points.
SS Assad 2-0 Kajiado FC
Hosts SS Assad picked up their second win of the season at the Ukunda Showgrounds after downing Kajiado FC 2-0 thanks to two strikes from the pair of Edmond Sitati and Alex Mwalimu in the 54th and 88th minutes.
The win pushed SS Assad to fifth on the table with seven points, with Kajiado FC a point less in eighth position.
