Victory saw Villa extend their unbeaten run to twenty-four games and moves them to fourth on the table with 20 points

A first-half strike from Brian Bett and second-half goals from Timothy Maasai, Moses Ngah, and Mike Isambwa were enough to hand Luanda Villa's fourth win of the season as they beat Mombasa Stars 4-0 at the Mumboha Grounds.

After a closely contested first stanza that had the teams almost settle for a stalemate, Villa broke from the back hitting Stars on a counter with the on-form Bett at the end of a long cross ball from Harrison Ndayala to put the host ahead in the 44th minute and hand the league debutants a deserved lead heading into the breather.

This was the third time Bett was scoring in a row for Luanda after recovering from a knee injury that saw him miss the opening close to two months of action.

Villa, who have a perfect start to the season, came back determined in the second half and a couple of changes by Tom Tera at the break proved pivotal as they dismantled the visitors mercilessly with the team’s leading goal scorer Timothy Masai breaking from a crowded Mombasa midfield before sending a powerful shot past Said Dhadho to double the hosts lead in the 50 th minute.

Any hopes of Mombasa Stars getting into the game were extinguished after Ndayala won a freekick at the edge of the box for Ngah to fire it home for Villa’s third of the game in the 65th minute.

Isambwa capped off a brilliant afternoon for the community-powered club with an acrobatic goal for his maiden strike in Luanda colors and fourth of the afternoon in the 70th minute to put the game beyond the Coastal side's reach.

Victory saw Villa extend their unbeaten run to twenty-four games and moves them to fourth on the table with 20 points, just three behind promotion slots.

Tera will also be delighted in the manner his side scored freely and they are now among the sides to have bagged more goals in the league, only bettered by Mara Sugar and Naivas who have scored 25 and 22 respectively.

Meanwhile, Naivas continued to pile pressure on Mathare United at the summit of the league after they saw off Mulembe United 3-0 in a league match played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos to three points within the leaders.

Derrick Amani netted a brace in his third successive game with anchoring midfielder Vincent Odongo completing the scores to hand Mulembe the fourth away defeat of the campaign.
