At the heart of Sunday’s action will be a tantalizing top-versus-chasing contest at Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga, where league leaders Mombasa United take on promotion hopefuls Fortune Sacco in a fixture that promises fireworks.
Fortune Sacco heads into the clash brimming with confidence after securing back-to-back convincing victories.
The microfinance-backed side, under the stewardship of Vincent Nyaberi, currently sits sixth on 39 points and remains firmly in the promotion conversation.
Victory on Sunday would see them cut the gap on fourth-placed Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) to just two points, significantly boosting their push for a top-tier slot.
However, they face a stern test against a Mombasa United side enjoying a rich vein of form.

Coached by Gilbert Selebwa, the coastal outfit has been nothing short of dominant, riding on an impressive eight-match winning streak.
Sitting comfortably at the summit with 52 points, three ahead of second-placed Migori Youth, Mombasa will be keen to extend their run to nine matches and tighten their grip on top spot.
With the first leg having gone in favor of Mombasa United, the leaders will be aiming to complete a league double, while Sacco will be equally motivated to exact revenge and reignite their promotion ambitions, setting the stage for a high-octane encounter.
Elsewhere, Thika Stadium will host an intriguing all-debutants clash as Kabati Youth welcome Equity in what doubles up as a newcomers’ derby with significant implications at both ends of the table.
Equity, enjoying a remarkable debut campaign, is currently fifth and remains firmly in contention for promotion.
A win would see the bankers close the gap on MOFA to just a single point, further strengthening their bid for a historic FKF Premier League promotion in their maiden season.
For Kabati Youth, the stakes are equally high but at the opposite end of the table.
Sitting just above the relegation zone on 24 points, the Haji Bilali-coached side is in urgent need of a turnaround, having gone winless in their last three matches.
Having suffered defeat in the reverse fixture, Kabati will be desperate to avoid a double loss and revive their survival push.
At Gusii Stadium, Gucha Stars will square off against Soy United in another fixture laden with significance.
The Kisii-based side, currently 13th on 29 points, are seeking a return to winning ways after going two matches without victory.
A positive result would be crucial in widening the gap between them and the relegation zone.
Soy United, on the other hand, finds itself in a troubling slump, having gone six matches without a win.
The poor run has seen them fall out of the promotion race, now trailing the playoff spots by a considerable margin.
Coach Jeff Odongo will be desperate to arrest the slide and spark a late resurgence.
Having claimed victory in the first leg, Soy will be targeting a double, while Gucha aims to settle scores on home soil, setting a fiery contest.
The final fixture of the day will see Luanda Villa host Nairobi City Stars at Mumboha Grounds in Luanda.
Both sides come into the match on the back of defeats and will be eager to bounce back.
For Luanda Villa, the encounter carries added urgency. Positioned 14th on 25 points, just one above the relegation zone, Leonard Swaleh’s charges are under pressure to secure maximum points and create breathing space from the drop.
Nairobi City Stars, meanwhile, sit on 33 points and still harbor outside hopes of mounting a late push toward the promotion places. A win in Luanda would be crucial in keeping those ambitions alive.
