The spotlight will shine on Moi Stadium, Kisumu, where 3K FC faces Kisumu All Stars in what has been dubbed the Mozzart Bet Derby, with both clubs enjoying financial support from gaming firm Mozzart Bet Kenya Limited.
However, on the pitch, fortunes have differed sharply.
Kisumu All Stars, under the watchful eye of coach Billy Agai, are still chasing their first victory of the season after six matches.
The lakeside outfit began their campaign with a 1-0 loss to Kibera Black Stars, followed by a 2-2 draw against Fortune Sacco.
Subsequent defeats to Migori Youth (2-1) and Darajani Gogo (1-0), along with goalless draws against Vihiga United and Soy United, have left Otenga languishing at the bottom of the standings.
Team manager Rashid Ocheng told Mozzart Sport that the club plans to strengthen the squad in January, noting that many of their current players were recruited from lower divisions and are still adapting to NSL competition.
On the other hand, 3K, led by Francis Chege, has had a mixed start to the campaign, winning twice, against Mombasa United and Darajani Gogo, while falling 2-1 to Nzoia Sugar.
Three of their matches have ended in draws, including recent stalemates against Mwatate United and Migori Youth.
Statistics favor 3K heading into this clash, having won both previous meetings against Kisumu All Stars with a commanding 7-1 aggregate.
A win for either side today will ease pressure on their technical benches and offer a crucial boost up the table.
Kibera Black Stars vs Equity Bank
At Vapour Grounds in Kawangware, Kibera Black Stars will look to reclaim the top spot when they face Equity Bank in what promises to be one of the weekend’s most entertaining fixtures.
Under the guidance of Iddi Badi, Kibera have been in fine form, going unbeaten in their last five matches.
They have recorded wins over MCF, Nairobi City Stars, MOFA, and Kisumu All Stars, only dropping points in a draw against Nzoia Sugar.
A win today could see them leapfrog Naivas FC and return to the summit of the NSL standings.
Their opponents, Equity, coached by John Kamara, will draw confidence from their impressive 3-2 win over promotion-chasing Migori Youth.
The bankers have registered two wins, one draw, and one defeat so far, having played two games fewer than their opponents.
A win today could catapult them into the top five, depending on other results.
Nzoia Sugar is the only side still unbeaten in the National Super League after six rounds.

At Sudi Stadium, Nzoia Sugar will aim to preserve their unbeaten run when they welcome Vihiga United.
The millers, who have drawn five of their six matches after their lone win over 3K, will be keen to finally convert consistency into victories.
Vihiga United, meanwhile, arrive buoyed by their first win of the season, a 1-0 triumph over Luanda Villa in the Vihiga Derby.
In Awendo, Migori Youth hosts Gucha Stars at Green Stadium as they continue their push for the summit.
Elsewhere, Fortune Sacco entertain Nairobi City Stars at Kianyaga Stadium, while Mwatate United round off the weekend action at Wundanyi Stadium with a home clash against Kabati Youth.
