Kisumu All Stars’ bid to make it two wins in a row, and climb out of the relegation zone-suffered a setback, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Equity FC at their home ground.
While All Stars went into the clash determined to secure maximum points, Equity sought to build on their 3-1 win over MCF and close the gap on league leaders Migori Youth.

The match kicked off at a blistering pace, with the hosts asserting early dominance.
All Stars had the first attempt as early as the fourth minute, when Mark Ochieng linked up with Owidi Kevin, but the striker’s shot narrowly missed the target.
Ochieng would again come close five minutes later, capitalizing on another clever pass from Owidi, only to see his effort drift just wide.
Equity FC responded in the ninth minute through Ogutu Sydney, whose controlled effort from Osodo Elvi’s delivery flew just over the bar.
The hosts continued to press, with Ochieng Eugene and Opuro Wycliffe combining well, though the latter failed to convert a golden chance.
The pattern of missed opportunities persisted for All Stars, with Christopher Onyango blasting over an open net following a defensive lapse by Equity and Opuro’s towering header from a set-piece failing to find the back of the net.
However, All Stars’ persistence paid off in first-half stoppage time.
A well-orchestrated move involving Opuro, Owidi, and Owour Billy culminated in a precise delivery into the box, which Onyango Christopher controlled before volleying past Onyango Michael to give the hosts a deserved 1-0 lead.
The second half began with All Stars immediately threatening to double their advantage, though Onyango failed to convert a golden chance just two minutes after the restart.
Equity FC slowly regained control, and a perfectly lofted delivery from Ndaikeza Abdi found Kapansa Bevex in the 59th minute, who fired into the roof of the net to level the score at 1-1.
The remainder of the match saw both sides create several promising opportunities.
Equity’s Mutua Robert narrowly missed from a header, while Maingi Muthoka, coming off the bench, failed to capitalize on a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper.
All Stars continued to press for a winner, with Onyango again coming close in the dying moments, only for his attempt to go wide.
The stalemate saw All Stars miss a crucial opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone, leaving them in 17th place with nine points.
Equity FC moved to 9th on 15 points, failing to significantly dent Migori Youth's lead.
