Omasete joined the club five weeks ago on an interim basis after the Embu-based side disbanded their entire technical bench following a run of poor results.
At the time, the team had gone winless since the turn of the year, dropping points against Naivas FC, Fortune Sacco, Nairobi City Stars and MOFA.
However, Omasete’s tenure as interim coach began in emphatic fashion as he guided the team to a 7-0 demolition of Limuru FC in the Mozzart Bet Cup, before registering a statement 5-0 victory over Luanda Villa.
The 2023/2024 FKF Division One champions went on to collect more wins against Denmak in the cup, Kisumu All Stars, Soy United, and MOFA.
Confirming the appointment, the club said in a statement: “The management of 3K FC wishes to inform our supporters, fans, partners, and well-wishers that following the disbandment of the club’s previous technical bench, Nicodemus Omasete was appointed to serve as the Interim Head Coach during the transition period.”
The club also unveiled a new technical bench led by Technical Director Kennedy Musyoka, with Dennis Okoth (Assistant Coach), Moses Munene (Assistant Coach/Fitness Trainer), Maurice Ochieng ‘Onyi’ (Goalkeeper Trainer) and Wilson Muchiri (Team Manager).
Omasete is not new to Central Kenya football, having previously managed several clubs in the region.
He ventured into management in 2021 when he led Fortune Sacco on an interim basis as a player-coach.
The tactician was part of the Fortune team that, alongside APS Bomet, earned promotion to the top tier before the league was later nullified.
After leaving Fortune, the coach went on to awaken a sleeping giant at EWASCO, guiding the team to the Division One promotion playoffs, although they narrowly missed out before financial challenges led to the team being disbanded.
His next stop was Ishiara, where he held the position until early this year.
At the moment, Omasete holds a 100 per cent record at 3K, and many will be hoping he can guide the side to the FKF Premier League as they currently sit just one point behind the promotion bracket.
