Kakamega Homeboyz striker Allan Wanga has dispelled reports that he will hang up his boots at the end of the current Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.

The former Kenyan International said that is staying put with Homeboyz and will try and deliver his side of a bargain he has with his coach Nicholas Muyoti, noting that he is focused on winning a trophy with Kakamega Homeboyz.

"I was misquoted that I would retire at the end of this season. I am still going strong with Kakamega Homeboyz. We had an agreement with the coach that I will stick around until we win something at Kakamega Homeboyz. That is still in the decision nothing has changed," Wanga said

In an earlier interview with Mozzart Sport, Muyoti revealed that he had an agreement with the former AFC Leopards striker to deliver a trophy at Homeboyz and he was hoping that the striker would keep it.

He went ahead to mention that he thought Wanga could play for five more years, which would push his retirement up to 2026.

Earlier, there were reports that Wanga would retire at the end of the season to concentrate on his job with the county government of Kakamega.

The globetrotter joined the Kakamega-based side in 2018 and has been a key player and leader for the club and has seen his fellow players coin a name for him, Senior Player, and even imitated his walking and running styles in their goals celebrations recently.

Wanga returned to action with Kakamega Homeboyz in the 3-1 win against Posta Rangers after missing on the previous three games and received praises from Muyoti on his return.
