Dortmund confirm the news of the agreement on Wednesday afternoon

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the sale of their top star Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid. The Bundesliga runners-up will sell Bellingham to Los Blancos for €103m plus up to 30% of the deal in variables. The total cost of the deal could thus rise to around €134m.\

The deal is not yet signed but that is among the formalities that will follow. The 19-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days.

Bellingham is seen as a long-term star in Real Madrid's midfield, eventually taking the torch from Luka Modric as the difference-maker for Los Blancos.

Dortmund confirmed news of the agreement on Wednesday afternoon. A club statement read:

"With realisation of this transfer Real Madrid will pay BVB a fixed transfer compensation in the amount of €103m.

"In addition, the payment of variable transfer fees up to a maximum total amount of around 30% of the amount of the fixed transfer fee has been agreed. Such variable transfer fees are dependent on the achievement of certain sporting successes by Real Madrid and/or sporting successes or performances of the player at Real Madrid in the period of the next six seasons."
