Arsenal lose a pre-season tie (1-0), with Spurs supporters showing solidarity with a promising player who was racially abused
They might be opponents, arch-rivals, even enemies on the pitch, but above all - they are humans, sympathetic and emphatic.
Tottenham fans showed an impressive support towards Bukayo Saka in today's North London pre-season friendly tie played at Spurs' stadium. Once the 19-year-old English striker replaced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the middle of the second half, everyone in the stands aplauded him. Saka was recently a victim of an awful racial abuse after missing a penalty in the EURO 2020 finals.
He received a heartfelt round of applause from the Spurs faithful, and responded in kind to the Tottenham fans by applauding them.
Rivalries aside. What a moment this was this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed he would aim to conduct socially-distanced talks with striker Harry Kane on Monday.
Kane is quarantining at Tottenham's North London training complex having returned to the club for the first time on Saturday after facing criticism for not showing up for Spurs' pre-season training over the past week.
