Coach Engin Firat has named a 27-man squad set to do duty against Uganda and Rwanda next week.

Former Gor Mahia Youth midfielder Amos Nondi, now plying his trade in Georgia with Dila Gori FC is excited to have received another call up to the national team as Kenya prepares to play Uganda and Rwanda on November 11 and 15 respectively.

Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has named a strong 27-man squad for the upcoming dead-rubber 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers matches handing six players their senior team maiden calls.

The Dila Gori midfielder is hoping to finally make his debut for Harambee in the two matches. Firat's men play away at St Mary's Kitende before hosting Rwanda at Nyayo four days later.

"I am lost for words to be honest. I am just happy and excited to be back in the national team after a long time," Nondi told Mozzart Sport.

Nondi started his career at Gor Mahia’s youth team before being loaned out to Sony Sugar in 2015 to pick up vital Premier League experience.

At the beginning of the 2016 season, he returned to Nairobi and was immediately promoted to Gor's senior side where he has been a frequent figure on the match day squad.

The 22-year old joined FC Kolkheti in July 2017 from Gor, featuring for the Georgia third division side for six months before moving to his now employer Dila Gori in the top tier league in January 2018.

The two matches are the final for coach Firat who signed a two-month contract with Football Kenya Federation (FKF) aimed at helping the team qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

However, losses to Mali, home and away, a barren draw to Uganda at home and a loss to Rwanda away saw Harambee Stars out of contention for a place at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
