Arsenal forward is on the verge of signing with Crystal Palace

Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, and Kai Havertz are too fierce a competition, and Eddie Nketiah realized it was time to leave. After nine years at Emirates Stadium, he'll replace one London club with another - Crystal Palace.

Nketiah was recently very close to joining Nottingham Forest but the deal between the club from Midlands and Arsenal fell through, which Palace used and snatched the forward for around 30 million euros plus add-ons. According to sources, once the 25-year-old joins the Eagles, another forward will leave Selhurst Park Stadium. Namely, Odsonne Edouard will reportedly return to the team from which he arrived in London - the Scottish side Celtic.

Nketiah, who even made one appearance for the English national team, wore Arsenal's jersey 168 times and scored 38 goals. However, he mostly came in as a sub, while most of his starts came in the EFL Cup and FA Cup. As for his Premier League records, his hat-trick against Sheffield United last October or a 90th-minute winner against Man United from January 2023 will remain one of the most notable moments of his spell with the Gunners.

Last season, Nketiah made 37 appearances in all competitions but played only 37 minutes per game on average. Even with the reduced playing time, he managed to net six times. However, the end of the previous season was a bumpy ride for the forward, given that he spent the ultimate six Premier League rounds on the bench as well as the opening two matches of the new season. Moreover, Nketiah played his last minutes in the top flight on April 14 in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat by Aston Villa at home turf, when he entered the game in the 87th minute.
