Nkana’s Abuya set to launch sports foundation

Kenya international Duke Abuya, is set to launch a foundation aimed at nurturing young talents in Kenya with the initial plan being the creation of a soccer centre that will admit 15 young talents from Uasin Gishu County.
“Duke Abuya our very own Harambe Stars and Nkana FC (Zambia) midfielder is inviting you to support his new Duke Abuya Foundation, which aims at nurturing our young generation in sports. The foundation will be launching Duke Abuya Soccer Centre (DASC) at a later date where we will be recruiting 15 young talents from all the 6 sub counties in Uasin Gishu county to join our soccer training clinics and camps. You can support us and our projects by buying our merchandise, from T shirts to caps at affordable prices,” he announced through the foundation’s social media handles.

Abuya, who signed for the Zambian club on a two-year deal in January 2020 from Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Kariobangi Sharks, went on to become a regular in the Zambian side.
The 27-year old’s journey in football began at Eldoret-based by Global Field Evangelism (GFC)105, a football club started by renowned singer, pastor and mentor, the late Bishop Ben Bahati which is currently competing at the National Division Two FKF league.

Abuya moved to Mathare United in 2015 before crossing over to Sharks in 2017.
He joins a growing list of Kenyan footballers who are giving back to their community through various foundations among them Johanna Omollo and Victor Wanyama
