The ruling was made in a case heard on Tuesday afternoon at the Milimani Law Court
Embattled Football Kenya Federation (FKF) boss Nicholas Kithuku Mwendwa has been granted temporary relief in his ongoing legal battles as he was granted a cash bail of Ksh10 million or a Ksh15 million bond with two sureties in a ruling made on Tuesday afternoon by senior principal magistrate Eunice Nyutu at the Milimani Law Courts.
The ruling came after the FKF boss pleaded not guilty to four counts of fraudulent acquisition of public property charged against him after he initially refused to take plea yesterday highlighting that his rights had been violated by the police and the Director of Pubic Prosecutions (DPP).
The police, through the DPP, have filed four charges against Mwendwa - three relating to acquisition of public property, and one of conspiracy to defraud FKF more than Sh29.5million.
Among some of the terms that were imposed with the bail or bond terms were:
1. Granted cash bail of Ksh 10million or Ksh 15million bond
2. Instructed to deposit his passport with the court
3. Forbidden from accessing FKF offices
4. Forbidden from publishing or discussing the matter in any media (sub judice)
5. Forbidden from contacting any witness directly or through proxies.
The pre-trial for the case is set to be heard on Monday 20 December.
