Despite interest from old club, Barcelona and MLS, he's inclined to move to Al-Hilal

Since PSG coach Luis Enrique and sporting director Luis Campos told Neymar the club no longer counted on him, everything has sped up for the Brazilian. According to RMC Sport, the Brazilian is close to joining Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Everything has ultimately happened very quickly for Neymar, who is under contract until 2027, and he's now very close to leaving PSG. The forward was told he needed to find a new club for himself.

PSG and Al-Hilal have come to an agreement, and Neymar is on board in principle to join the Saudi Pro League club. The Saudi club is awaiting final confirmation, but everyone is confident.. As reported by the reputable L'Equipe, Al Hilal and the Brazilian agreed on a two-year cooperation, on the basis of which the long-time Saints player will collect around 160,000,000 euros. The same source says that now everything is up to the clubs.

The Brazilian had several options lately, notably in MLS, but the Saudi club was, as explained, a more inviting idea. Things have progressed quickly in the past few hours. No financial details have leaked yet.

But this departure from PSG could turn into a three-way billiards shot. Neymar wanted to stay for another season in a major European league and didn't hide his desire for a return to Barcelona. While Xavi expressed some reservations in his recent press conferences, president Joan Laporta and the management seemed more inclined toward the idea of their former star returning to Catalonia.

On Friday evening, another step was taken with the statement from the new Barca captain Sergi Roberto, who opened the door wide for Neymar, revealing the former Santos wonderkid would love to return.

"I would be thrilled if Neymar returned. He's a former teammate but also a friend with whom we've experienced great things. When he was here, I lived my best years with the first team. We won everything. He's a very different player. I'm sure he would bring us a lot."

However, considering Barcelona's financial situation, their only chance of getting Neymar would be on a year-long loan from Al-Hilal.

In any case, Neymar is very close to leaving PSG. His highly likely departure would symbolize a true end of a cycle in Paris, following Lionel Messi's departure to Inter Miami. It would mark the end of the All-Star policy within the Parisian ranks. The squad chosen by Luis Enrique for the Ligue 1 opener against Lorient on Saturday already indicated this direction.

Time to say goodbye, Ney.
