New Patrick Kluivert leaving Ajax for free... to Dortmund or Leipzig?

Ajax Amsterdam did all they could to keep their biggest talent in a club, but they failed. Or, to be more precise, Mino Raiola won. The super-agent managed to snatch talented Brian Brobbey from the club which invested in him, so the young forward will be a free agent in June.

Arguably their biggest talent since Patrick Kluivert didn’t want to extend the contract with the Duch champions, which was confirmed by the Ajax Director of football Marc Overmars.

"We think it is too bad that he’s leaving and have done everything to keep him at Ajax longer. He has chosen to play football elsewhere after the summer. It’s difficult for me to accept, but it's his decision. Brian is still under contract with us for a few months, if we need him the trainers will call on him".

According to the newspaper “De Telegraaf”, RB Leipzig has already made an offer for the youngster. Julian Nagelsmann’s team does not have a recognizable forward since Timo Werner left for Chelsea. His successors, Alexander Sørloth and Hee-Chan Hwang so far managed to score only 3 goals combined, so Leipzig have already submitted an offer to agent Mino Raiola, per the report, and have been chasing Brobbey for a long time.

But, the super-agent has other ideas. It is expected that his other more luxurious client, Erling Haaland, will leave Dortmund in June, so Raiola apparently offered Brobbey to the „Millionaires“ first. Other reports suggest that Leipzig were so persistent, that they are ahead at the moment. In the end, who knows, maybe the young man will have a chance to decide about his own future by himself...or maybe not?

Dutch-born Ghanaian forward joined Ajax's youth academy in 2010. He made his debut for the Ajax first team during the 5-2 win against Fortuna Sittard on October 31, 2020, where he scored almost immediately on entering the pitch. In total, Brobbey played six times for the Ajax first teams, scoring twice.
