The young Al Ahly player is on Barcelona’s radar as one of their potential future projects
FC Barcelona has officially moved to secure 17-year-old Egyptian talent Hamza Abdelkarim from Al Ahly. Following strong scouting reports, the club has submitted a formal proposal to bring the striker to Spain this January, primarily to reinforce a Barca Atletic side currently depleted by injuries to Oscar Gistau and Victor Barbera.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana’s opening bid consists of a free six-month loan through June, which includes a 4 million euros purchase option. This buy-out clause is structured as a 1 million euros fixed payment, with the remaining 3 million euros tied to performance-based milestones.
Abdelkarim, a physical center-forward known for his clinical finishing, rose to prominence during the FIFA U-17 World Cup and has already broken into Al Ahly’s first team. His arrival would build on a growing relationship between the two clubs, following a visit to Barcelona last July by Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib and stadium project lead Mohamed Kamel.
Barca’s interest in Hamza Abdelkarim looks serious, with a six month loan on the table and a €4m buy option. The 17 year old is pushing for the move to join Barca Atletic, and after his U17 World Cup performances, this could be a smart, low cost addition for the rebuild pic.twitter.com/oqXkmxqCtn

While the immediate plan places Abdelkarim in the reserve squad, the long-term vision allows for a promotion to the senior team if he continues his rapid development. The deal now hinges on whether Al Ahly will accept the terms of the loan-to-buy agreement.
