Napoli coach on a short leash after a few bad results

Owner De Laurentiis is already thinking of Igor Tudor as a replacement in case this bad form continues

Everyone is against Rudy Garcia, only Aurelio de Laurentiis supports him. And that's not really a guarantee, because Napoli’s owner was able to make a maneuver and replace the coach in the past, just after he would publicly stand by him. So, in a way, it’s dangerous for any Napoli coach who is in trouble to get support from its owner. That is why in Italy they are convinced that the owner of the current Serie A champion is preparing a dismissal, provided that García does not improve the situation and interpersonal relations in a team that is in a difficult position after the opening of the season. Since the Frenchman took the reins, Napoli does not seem anywhere near as attractive and powerful as last year when they won Serie A after more than three decades of waiting. On top of all that, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, their arguably most important player is nowhere near proper form, and their best striker Victor Osimhen hasn’t scored in four games, and he also opposed the coach after he subbed him in a Bologna stalemate last week.

That's why Rudy Garcia is now at a turning point and he has an ultimatum before him to improve the game and the results in the next four games, which will be followed by the October break due to national team obligations. If there is something favorable in the schedule, it is the fact that Napoli plays three games at the "Diego Armando Maradona" stadium: with Udinese and Fiorentina in Serie A and in the Champions League with Real Madrid, while they are visiting Lecce. It is clear that De Laurentiis will evaluate the team’s form in all these matches, especially in the elite competition when Carlo Ancelotti, the former Napoli’s coach will return to the south of Italy. In the winter of 2019, Ancelotti was dismissed from his coaching position in Napoli. Among other things, because of the ‘hiccups’ against Bologna. Then De Laurentiis "supported" him, and sent a similar message to Garcia the other evening:

"Congratulations to everyone for display against Bologna"

Many interpret these words of De Laurentiis as a hint of the replacement of Rudy Garcia, and if that happens, the replacement is already waiting. Napoli is interested in Igor Tudor, who helped Marseille reach Champions League qualification (which they lost with another coach), but was opposed in the dressing room and caused a stir among players. Tudor is considered to be a firm man, but also a coach who is able to bring order, which he did in PAOK, Galatasaray, Udinese, Hajduk and Verona.
