Eusebio Di Francesco is jobless following all three defeats with Hellas Verona at the beginning of the new season in Serie A

He was never as good as the guy he was named after, but Eusebio Di Francesco was a descent midfielder and a vital part of that dazzling Roma that won Italian Serie A in 2001. Di Francesco even earned himself a few appearances with the Azurri back in the day, but his coaching career is nowhere near the levels of his previous playing heights.

After an astonishing success with then-unknown Sassuolo and solid two seasons in the dugout of the very AS Roma that followed, he has fallen into slow but steady decline.

On 7 October 2019, he left his next job at Sampdoria, with the slot in the last place in the Serie A table and six losses in seven league games. Subsequently, he went to Cagliari, but his six-month tenure ended the same way in February 2021. Finally, he was appointed as the new coach of Hellas Verona in June, signing a two-year contract. But it lasted, as we said, only three games.

Nailed to the rock bottom of the league, the club decided to say a farewell to Di Francesco, whose coaching flaws have taken their definite toll.

After this, it will be almost impossible for him to find a decent job among the top clubs.
