
Namaska yearning to rejoin elder brother in FKFPL

Zoo FC midfielder Edwin Namasaka hasn't given up on his dream of playing in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League alongside his elder brother Danson Chetambe for the second time.
The two siblings played in the top flight between 2019 to 2021 before Zoo were relegated to the second tier for their alleged involvement in match-fixing.
Zoo were further relegated to the FKF Division One by the Caretaker Committee that managed football activities for the better part of the 2021-2022 season.
Namasakha, who has been with Zoo since 2019, revealed his wish to get back to the top tier and join his sibling who has made himself a name and even got his first Harambee Stars call-up due to the success at the club level.
"I hope to play in the FKFPL again. I was flourishing in the 2020-2021 season before the unfortunate happened. My brother and I were making our family proud back then. I want to join him in the top level again," said Namasaka.
Chetambe is attached to KCB and has previously played for Bandari, a club that thrust him to the national team in March 2021.
Zoo, who are under the tutelage of Herman Iswekha were on the verge of gaining promotion to the second tier but lost the promotion/relegation playoff to Nairobi United by a solitary strike.
Mozzart Sport however understands that Zoo launched an appeal owing to the hefy penalties the Leagues and Competitions Committee imposed on the club on top of awarding the playoff to Nairobi United.
Zoo, were penalized for crowd trouble witnessed late in the second half and that saw the fourth official in the playoff assaulted.
A Daily Nation photojournalist wasn't spared either as he was assaulted and his camera damaged.
