Naivas FC clinch playoff spot, set to face Sofapaka for FKF Premier League place

Naivas ended the season with 76 points, while Nairobi United finished fourth with 75 points.
Naivas FC finished third in the National Super League, securing a playoff spot where they will face Sofapaka to determine which team will secure the 18th FKF Premier League spot for next season.
The Collins Omondi-led team beat SS Assad 1-0 in Ukunda on Sunday, courtesy of a goal from former Sofapaka FC striker Robert Karisa, securing the spot ahead of Nairobi United.
Nairobi United also won their game, downing relegated Silibwet 7-0 in Bomet, but fell short by one point.
Naivas end the season with 76 points, while Nairobi United finished fourth with 75 points.
Naivas will now face the 2009 champions, Sofapaka, in a league playoff, aiming to follow in the footsteps of Kenya Police FC and Vihiga United, who are the only NSL sides to have beaten KPL sides in the playoff to earn a place in the top tier.
On the other hand, Kajiado FC was relegated to the FKF Division One League after losing 2-0 to Gusii FC at the Cardinal Otunga in Mosocho, consequently saving Mombasa Elite from relegation. Gusii, already relegated, scored their goals through Brandon Wafula and Joshua Ratemo. Kajiado, Gusii, and Silibwet will now play in the third tier next season.
