
Naivas appoint Collins 'Korea' Omondi as new head coach

National Super League outfit Naivas FC has appointed former Mathare United tactician Collins 'Korea' Omondi as the new head coach.
The experienced gaffer joins the club months after parting ways with Mathare and takes over from Elvis Ayani who, agreed to deputize Benard Mwalala at KCB FC
Korea is not new to the Super League as he has previously handled the defunct Nairobi Stima. He signed a two-year long deal with Naivas.
His experience in Kenyan football and his longevity gave him an edge over the rest according to the club’s team manager Charles Maina.
"He stood out among the candidates who presented their papers. His record and experience in Kenya football made us give him the task," offered Maina.
The former Kariobangi Sharks and Posta Rangers assistant coach will be tasted in guiding the 2020-2021 Football Kenya Federation Division One champions to FKF Premier League.
"We have given him a contract which will be renewed as per the team's results," added Maina
Naivas, who finished last season fifth on 47 points, are set for a week-long camp in Nyeri and Kericho.
The team is scheduled to play pre-season matches as well as scout young talents from the grassroot level.
The tour will also, be used to gauge new players who are interested in joining the shoppers, who are in signing spree after key players left their ranks in the previous campaign.
Naivas are expected to beef up the technical bench with former Mully Children Home FC coach Robert Arasa Orangi poised to come in as an assistant.
