Muyoti believes Kimani’s appointment as strength and conditioning coach is a major boost for the club as they prepare to compete on multiple fronts, both domestically and on the continental stage.

Of course, we have Kimani coming in new to the game but not really new. He is experienced in terms of play, but in terms of coaching, he is still new. I think it is quite a good team, and I believe we can work together and make sure we achieve what we want,” said Muyoti, the former Kakamega Homeboyz and Nairobi City Stars head coach.

Kimani brings with him vast top-flight experience, having enjoyed a long playing career with Mathare United, Wazito FC, Sofapaka, and AFC Leopards, in addition to his time with the national team.

His understanding of the local game and elite football environment is expected to play a key role as Nairobi seeks to raise their competitive standards.

Kimani is among 3 new additions to the Nairobi United technical bench as the club embarks on a busy year that will see them compete in the FKF Premier League, the CAF Confederation Cup, and the FKF Cup.

The other changes include the appointment of Boniface Ouma and Sadique Ambani Waziri as first and second assistant coaches, respectively.

Muyoti welcomed the reshuffle, describing it as a step in the right direction and expressing confidence that the expanded technical team will help push the club to greater heights.

Just looking at the quality of the coaches that have come in, I think it is a big plus with the experience they have had with other teams. I believe whatever we know as a technical staff here and whatever they are bringing in is going to help us. I also think it will help in terms of the quality of players we are bringing in,” added Muyoti, who took charge of Nairobi United in January last year.

United are currently placed 13th on the league table and will be looking to climb higher when they return to action on Friday, 4 January, against Shabana.

Technical Director Salim Ali also weighed in on the new appointments, underlining the club’s intention to strengthen its backroom staff in preparation for the challenges ahead.

We are beefing up our technical bench to bring in more experience and tactical depth. This is crucial as we navigate a demanding schedule both domestically and in the CAF Confederation Cup,” said Ali.

The newly constituted technical bench will begin its assignment by preparing Naibois for their away clash against Shabana in Kisii, a fixture that pits the country’s current CAF Confederation Cup representatives against the 1988 Africa Cup Winners Cup representatives.

United will then turn their focus back to continental action when they host Moroccan giants Wydad AC in Nairobi on 8 February as they continue their historic CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
