
Nairobi United targets Mulembe's scalp as NSL action continues

The early kickoff match will be between Mathare United and SS Assad at Utalii Grounds
National Super League (NSL) action enters round seven on Saturday with four matches lined up across various venues in the country.
The highlight of the day will pit league debutants Nairobi United against second-bottom-placed Mulembe United, with the Naibois boasting a strong start to the season and will look to bask in home advantage to tear Mulembe.
Under the stewardship of Paul Odhiambo, the newbies are on a streak of twelve matches without defeat, a run that extends from the 2022-23 season.
The Samuel Twago instructed Mulembe have struggled this season, with the club failing to win in the last three NSL games and boost of one win since the start of the campaign.
Eleventh-placed Nairobi go into the match as favorites but head coach Odhiambo says his boys will not underestimate the Vihiga-based team.
"We as Nairobi United have a target for promotion so we are taking each and every match with a lot of seriousness.
"We don't have the time to look down on any opponent because every team has the ability to collect maximum points so it is up to us to counter what every team brings at us to try and win all our matches," expressed Odhiambo.
A win for the Naibois will take them seven steps up depending on results from other fields while maximum points for Mulembe will take them out of the red zone.
Silibwet Leons vs Kajiado FC
At Silibwet Green Stadium, Silibwet Leons who recorded the first three points of the season last week against Dimba Patriots, host the inconsistent Kajiado FC, who are coming off a 1-1 draw against Luanda Villa.
Silibwet heads into the fixture with an unwanted defensive record that has seen Mark Otieno’s charges fail to keep a clean sheet in seven of their league games.
Victory for Kajiado will take them top of the table since match day three suppose Mara sugar drops maximum points.
Mara Sugar vs Dimba Patriots
Dimba Patriots travel to Awendo where they are set to take on league leaders Mara Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium.
Under the tutelage of interim coach Godfery Naibei, the Millers head into the match keen to bounce from last weekend's heartbreak at the hands of Mathare United that saw the sugar men succumb to the maiden defeat of the campaign.
Dimba, on the other hand, have struggled for form since their promotion to the second tier and will approach the match seeking to bounce back from last weekend's 2-1 loss to Silibwet Leons.
A win for the Millers will see them open a three-point gap at the summit of the log with second-placed Naivas not in action this week following the postponement of Migori Youth fixtures, who they were set to squire out with. Whereas victory for Idd Shikanda’s charges could steer them up to tenth depending on the results from other matches.
Mathare United vs SS Assad
At the Utalii Grounds in Nairobi, Mathare United's surge to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League will face a stern test when they settle scores against SS Assad.
Mathare march into the game on the back of a 2-0 comfortable win against Mara Sugar while Simba Gii are coming from a labored 2-1 victory over Mulembe United.
The two sides however have a contradicting home-away form with the slum boys yet to drop points at home this term, and the Ali Mwachaunga’s men are yet to pick a point from any match far away from Ukunda Showgrounds.
Triumph for either of the sides will lift them to second on the log ahead of Sunday matches.
