Biko joins the Mozzart Bet Cup champions from fellow FKFPL outfit Kariobangi Sharks, while Ssematimba makes the move from Uganda Premier League club NEC FC.
Mozzart Sport had earlier reported that Biko was set to see out his contract with Sharks before committing his future to either Shabana or Nairobi United, with the capital city club emerging as frontrunners for his signature.
Confirming the double acquisition, Nairobi said Biko’s defensive qualities and leadership will be a major boost as the club looks to push up the league standings in their maiden top-flight campaign.
“Known for his solid defending and leadership qualities, the central defender will help shore up the backline with his commanding presence as the Naibois bid to finish as high as possible in the Sportpesa League,” the club said in a statement.

“The central defender brings a wealth of experience, having played at the top level for two seasons and also representing the famous Green Commandos.
The club has also completed the signing of Ugandan attacking midfielder Titus Ssematimba from Uganda Premier League side NEC FC.”
Biko’s exit adds to a growing list of notable departures from Kariobangi Sharks in recent seasons.
The club has previously lost Keith Imbali and Biron Ochieng to Shabana, Fredrick Alushula to AFC Leopards and Geoffrey Onyango to reigning champions Kenya Police FC.
Biko enjoyed a solid 2024/25 FKF Premier League campaign and was widely viewed as one of the most underrated performers at Sharks across several defensive metrics.
However, mixed team performances saw the club finish 11th on the league table.
Who is Ssematimba?
Ssematimba arrives in Kenya with an impressive résumé despite his young age.
Born on 15 August 2003 in Kampala, the midfielder has risen steadily through Uganda’s domestic football system, earning senior international recognition before his 21st birthday.
He began his football journey at Black Star FC before stepping into top-flight football with Wakiso Giants FC in September 2021.
Ssematimba made an immediate impact, scoring twice on his league debut against SC Villa in a 3-1 victory, a performance that marked him out as one of the league’s brightest young prospects.
Across the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, Ssematimba established himself as a key attacking midfielder at Wakiso Giants, contributing goals and assists while gaining valuable experience against some of Uganda’s most established sides.
His intelligence in possession and ability to influence games from midfield earned him consistent minutes despite his age.
The midfielder's domestic form saw him called up to the Uganda Under-20 national team in 2022, where he played a pivotal role at the CECAFA U20 Championship in Sudan.
Ssematimba was named Player of the Tournament after a series of standout performances.
In 2024, he joined Kitara FC as part of the club’s squad reinforcement before making his latest move to NEC FC, where his performances continued to attract interest beyond Uganda’s borders.
Although he is yet to win major club silverware, Ssematimba’s career is already marked by significant individual achievements and early international impact.
Still in his early twenties, he arrives at Nairobi United as a long-term investment and a player capable of adding creativity, energy and attacking intent to the club’s midfield.
