The bankers beat AFC Leopards 1-0 on Friday last week

KCB tactician Benard Mwalala has identified the area to work on in his team before the resumption of the football Kenya Federation Premier League after the international break.

The bankers kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over AFC Leopards in the second round courtesy of Derrick Otanga's strike.

Speaking after the match, the former Ulinzi Stars coach highlighted the final third as the main area needing refining.

Mwalala has provedn himself as a coach who normally employs an attacking-minded approach to games and, good ball delivery from wide areas, is crucial for his gameplan.

Despite picking the win against AFC leopards, he maintains that they are still a work in progress and that, they will continue putting in the much-needed effort.

"I saw good progress in the team and at the same time I saw things that we need to rectify. We are still work in progress and we are now going back to the drawing board so that we improve. It is good that we take it head on adter we have already won our opening match. We have to work on our finishing and the delivery from the flanks," Mwalala said.

With the FIFA window taking center stage, there will be no league action this coming weekend with all FKFPL matches returning on Saturday 16, and Saturday 17 September 2023.

For Mwalala, the break comes in handy as it will allow him time to sort the team and get things ready ahead of their next match.

"It will come in handy for me and the team considering that I have seen areas that will need about one week to rectify while in training," he added.

KCB play Kariobangi Sharks next on Sunday 17 September 2023.
