Lemu missed a crucial penalty that would have seen scores level at Utalii
Kariobangi Sharks tactician William Muluya has said that he is not blaming his captain for the day Geoffrey Lemu Shiveka for the penalty miss against Gor Mahia in the FKF Cup quarterfinal match played at the Utalii Grounds on Thursday afternoon.
Muluya said that losing a spot-kick is something that happens everywhere and he would not blame Shiveka, added that it was water under the bridge now though it was a perfect chance for them to get back into the game.
"He lost the kick. But also the keeper at the other end did well. I cannot blame him, it is something that happens across. Maybe it was our chance to get back into the game but that is past now," Muluya said.
Sharks were awarded a controversial penalty after Gor Mahia's Harun Shakava was ruled to have handled the ball in the box but Lemu, one of Sharks' longest-serving players, failed to convert and give his team hopes of turning the scores around.

Shiveka stepped up to take the penalty, with both Eric Kapaito and Patilah Omoto, both on penalty duties for Sharks, not on the field at that particular moment.
The defender went low and hard on Gad Matthews right side but the Gor Mahia custodian, formerly with Sharks was equal to the task as he stretched fully to deny Lemu, and protect Gor Mahia's lead.
The tactician also added that with the cup exit, they are taking their focus back to the league which is set to resume next week.
"All our focus is now on the league. Now that we have exited this competition we must do our best. there is one ticket that will be decided on June 30, but the most important thing is to have a good show and win the league. Maybe the team that will be at the top then will not be the same team that will win the league at the end of the season. Winning the league is very important also," the former Mathare United team manager added
