Namwamba had promised each FKFPL club Ksh 500,000

Muhoroni Youth chairman Moses Adagala wants Cabinet Secretary for Sports Ababu Namwamba to honor a pledge the ministry made to give each of the top league sides Ksh 500,000.

Adagala said they have not received the money which they desperate need as the season has already started.

Three weeks ago, the ministry promised to award each of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) sides Sh.500,000.

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards were the biggest beneficiaries with the former promised Sh.10million and Leopards Ksh 5million.

The Muhoroni Youth chairman is however worried that the pledge has not been kept.

“We are grateful for the ministry for thinking about us and now we ask that the promise be kept. Most us were relying on that money for our league’s logistical preparations,” he said.

Adagala has at the same time asked the Ministry to shed light on the promised broadcasting deal that was to be signed before the new season which kicked off last weekend.

“We are in the dark as to what is happening in regard to the broadcast deal especially with national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). The league has kicked off and we need to be told what is happening.”

Namwamba had promised a mega bumper deal for the league that was to be unveiled before the new season kicked off.

However, with the season have started, there has been no information on the same. Apart from KBC, Tanzania based Azam are also expected to come on board as the other league broadcaster partner.

The top league has not had a television partner since Star Times left two years ago.
