To progress to the semis, Azam beat Jamhuri FC and drew with Malindi FC to finish top of the group

Kenyan international Kenneth Muguna was in action on Sunday night as Azam FC were eliminated from the Mapinduzi Cup after a 4-1 drubbing by Singida Big Stars.

The former Gor Mahia FC player has had a good running recently and was even feted in the opening match of the tournament in Group A.

A 1-1 draw in the opening match over Malindi FC and a 3-0 win Jamhuri FC on Friday saw the Ice Cream makers proceed to the semis after topping their group.

Singida had the perfect start to the match as Kazadi Kasengu opened the scoring after just 27 minutes but Abdoul Sopu ensured that the two sides went into the break level with a goal in the 43rd minute.

Seven minutes into the second half, Kasengu grabbed his second, a second for his team also before completing a hattrick 12 minutes later.

He then hit the last nail with only five minutes left to play in regular time, completing the four goal rout to send his team to the final.

Singida will now face off with the winner between Mlandege and Namungo FC who play tonight in the other semifinal.
