The runners-up will take home KSh2 million, while the third- and fourth-placed teams will earn KSh1.5 million and KSh1 million respectively.

Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor has admitted his side will be cautious of the threat posed by fifth-tier side BB Bread ahead of their clash on Sunday, March 8.

BB Bread produced the biggest upset of the Round of 64 after eliminating Kenyan giants AFC Leopards 4–3 on post-match penalties following a 2–2 draw in regular time.

Their giant-killing run will once again be put to the test when they face Gor Mahia, having been paired together in the Round of 32.

Speaking ahead of the Sunday afternoon clash, Akonnor acknowledged the quality of their opponents, noting that his side will approach the match with the seriousness it deserves.

“It is an important match that we will not take lightly. We will approach it with the seriousness it deserves. We know they eliminated AFC Leopards and are therefore a good side,” said Akonnor.

With K’Ogalo having endured a packed fixture schedule over the past few weeks and boasting plenty of depth in the squad, Akonnor is expected to rotate his team, though he believes that will not affect their performance.

“Every player who features in the match will be serious and make sure he delivers,” he added.

Gor Mahia suffered a shock defeat in last season’s Mozzart Bet Cup after losing 2–1 to then National Super League (NSL) side Nairobi United in the final. The loss saw them finish the season trophyless and miss out on a place in continental football.

The disappointment still lingers within the squad, with the Ghanaian tactician expressing the team’s determination to make amends this season.

“We want to be serious with this competition. We want to compete strongly in this cup and give the fans more reasons to smile.”

The winner of the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup will pocket KSh3 million and secure a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The runners-up will take home KSh2 million, while the third- and fourth-placed teams will earn KSh1.5 million and KSh1 million respectively.
