Mixed results for Stars abroad on Sunday

Three of the big name players who were missing from the Harambee Stars AFCON qualifiers squad started for their clubs over the weekend.
Kenyan internationals Eric Johanna, Aboud Omar and Johanna Omolo who were axed from the Harambee Stars squad to face Egypt and Togo in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers featured over the weekend for their respective clubs.
Aboud Omar
Kenyan international Aboud Omar started for Ionikos in the 1-2 win over Ierapetra with the victory propelling them to the top of the Greece Super League 2 standings.
Andreas Vlachomitros broke the deadlock for Ionikos in the 33rd minute with Antonios Fouasis restoring parity for Ierapetra five minutes after the hour mark.
A late goal from Georgios Manalis, six minutes from time ensured Ionikos grabbed three vital points as they seek promotion to the top tier.
Eric Johanna
Former Mathare United midfielder Eric Johanna started for Jönköpings Södra IF in the friendly against GAIS in Sweden.
Jönköpings lost the game 1-0 courtesy of a Daniel Sterner goal in the 76th minute as both teams continued to prepare for the new season slated to kick off on Sunday 11 April.

Johanna Omollo
Johanna Omolo started for Turkish Super League side Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor in the 3-1 loss to Antalyaspor.
Aatif Chahechouhe opened the scoring for Erzurumspor in the 39th minute but a strong second half saw Antalyaspor win the game courtesy of goals from Fredy, Gokdeinz Bayrakdar and Bunyamin Balcı.
The loss leaves Erzurumspor in a precarious position as they sit 19th on the 21-team log with two points off safety.

Anthony Akumu
Former Gor Mahia midfielder Anthony Akumu featured in the 100th Soweto Derby for Kaizer Chiefs as they beat arch-rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0.
Akumu was introduced in the 93rd minute in place of Bernard Parker as Chiefs aimed to kill time and end their three-game losing run in the feisty derby.
Serbian forward Samir Nurkovic scored the all-important game in the derby in the 54th minute to end their six-game winless run in the league.

Tyler Onyango
Kenyan midfielder Tyler Onyango started for Everton in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal but was unfortunate to be sent off in the 94th minute.
Nathan Broadhead put Everton ahead in the 41st minute with Folarin Balogun pulling Arsenal level in the 81st minute.
Onyango who received a yellow card in the 67th minute that was a bit harsh after pulling back Joel Lopez was sent off in added time after pushing away Tolaji Bola who had brought him down while he was through on goal.

Phillip Mwene
Kenyan defender Phillip Mwene clocked 90 minutes for Mainz in the 1-2 win over Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga.
Mwene is still eligible to play for Harambee Stars after being born to a Kenyan father and Austrian mother having not featured for the Austrian senior side.
Mainz needed just a minute to open the scoring through Robert Glatzel while Ilhas Bebou drew Hoffenheim level in the 39th minute but Die Nullfünfer regained their lead three minutes later through Dominik Kohr.
