
Mixed results for Kenyan stars abroad

Johanna Omolo and Erzurumspor are close to pulling a great escape from relegation in the Turkish Super League.
A number of Kenyan Internationals were in action abroad for their respective team on Wednesday.
Duke Abuya
Kenyan international Duke Abuya started in the 0-1 defeat at the hands of Egyptian moneybags Pyramids FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.
After a tight encounter, Abdallah Bekhit finally broke the deadlock in the 78th minute with his late goal proving to be a match-winner.
The defeat takes progression to the knockout phases of the tournament out of Nkana’s hands as they currently have six points with second-placed Pyramids on nine.

Johanna Omolo
Kenyan international Johanna Omolo was handed a starting berth as Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor secured three vital points in the 1-0 win over Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish Super League.
Former Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan scored a last gasp winner in the 96th minute with Erzurumspor picking up form at the right time of the season when the league is coming to a close.
Omolo clocked 90 minutes, as Erzurumspor moved to within a point to relegation safety with six games left to the end of the season as the great escape is within their sights.

Brian Mandela
Kenyan international Brain Mandela watched from the bench as his side Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a barren draw against Amazulu.
Despite the barren draw the table-toppers clash was entertaining with both teams having a real go at each other in search of the elusive win.

Aboud Omar
Former Tusker FC left-back Aboud Omar started for Ionikos in the 1-1 draw against PAE Chania in the Greek Super League 2.
Ionikos pulled ahead through Matias Castro eight minutes after the second half but failed to hold to their lead with Vasilios Triantafyllakos scoring two minutes from time to secure a point for Chania.
Joash Onyango
Kenyan international Joash Onyango started for Simba in the 2-0 win over Kagera Sugar in the Tanzanian Premier League.
On form midfielder, Luis Miquissone only needed 13 minutes to break the deadlock for Simba while Chris Mugalu doubled their lead in the 24th minute.
Onyango clocked 90 minutes while his compatriot Francis Kahata missed the game after missing out on the league registration.
