The difference came courtesy of Frederick Ologi, whose 37th-minute header proved decisive, guiding the Sammy Otulo-coached side to 26 points and extending their lead to a commanding five-point margin.
With the top spot in sight, Migori approached the clash determined to extend their impressive run and consolidate their dominance.
Meanwhile, Fortune Sacco, buoyed by back-to-back wins, were equally eager to continue their fine form and climb further up the table.
From the onset, the match lived up to expectations.
Migori threatened first in the seventh minute when Syphas Otieno, the league’s current top scorer, was set through by Churchill Otieno but agonisingly missed a close-range finish.
The visitors responded shortly after the quarter-hour mark, with Collins Maina testing Stephen Onyango, only for the goalkeeper to make a comfortable save.

Fortune continued to press, with opportunities falling to Maina, Elvis Barasa, and Jacob Wangui, all of which were expertly denied by Migori’s defence and Onyango.
Migori, in turn, looked dangerous on the break, with Ologi linking well with Otieno before finally breaking the deadlock.
The goal came in the 37th minute when Ologi timed his run perfectly to head in a pinpoint delivery from Geoffrey Odira, giving Migori a crucial lead.
Fortune had a late chance before halftime through Omar Swaleh, but his effort went narrowly wide, sending the teams into the break with Migori ahead.
The second half maintained a high tempo. Fortune pressed for an equaliser, creating opportunities through Yusuf Ochieng, Maina, and substitute Alfred Irungu, but Onyango and the Migori defence stood firm.
Migori, on their part, came close to doubling the lead through Otieno and Ologi, only to be denied by the visitors’ goalkeeper Malvin Nderitu.
In added time, a Syphas free-kick was also brilliantly saved, with Migori holding on to secure maximum points.
The victory leaves Migori Youth firmly in control of the NSL table with 26 points, while Fortune Sacco remains eighth with 15 points, their two-match winning streak halted.
