Mighty Inter scores six goals in a Sampdoria thrashing

Reading Time: 3min | Sat. 08.05.21. | 20:59

This was Inter's 14th consecutive victory

The Scudetto is again in the windows of Milan's Inter, but the finish of the season will obviously show how Antonio Conte's team can play when it is completely relieved. Sampdoria, which was demolished on Meazza, also felt that on its skin today, due to the hurricane attack of Nerazzurri. The host was strong in the attack, even with Romelu Lukaku on the bench: 5-1 (3-1).

Alexis Sanchez made the most of Lukaku’s absence, scoring two goals, while Gagliardini, Pinamonti and Lautaro Martinez scored one goal each. Only the fans were missing, who would further increase the celebration of the championship title with applause from the stands.

Sanchez's "crazy championship dance" lasted ten minutes, and it started in the 26th minute, when the ball was carried for a full 30 meters by the scattered Gagliardini, and the Chilean routinely hit the slant from the right side. Sampdoria was briefly lifted by Keita Balde's goal in the 35th minute, but in the next attack, Sanchez scored another one, after Ashraf Hakimi's cross.

Claudio Ranieri's team was also completely relieved in terms of results, but maybe that was the main reason why the Genoese suffered a heavy defeat. They entered the game quite ambitiously and openly, and then flew into real hurricane attacks from the opposite side. After the final result, coach Raineri will find it difficult to explain his players display, and the former Leicester coach still hasn’t renewed his contract with the club.....

With perfect changes at the beginning of the second half, Conte provided freshness and motivation for the end of the match, and it was the reservists who created the action with the fourth goal in the 61st minute. Immediately after entering the field, Nikolo Barela found Andrea Pinamonti in the visitors' penalty area with a great pass, and he expertly found his way to Sampa's goal. Lautaro Martinez put an end to Inter's brilliant attacking performance from the penalty spot in the 70th minute of the game.
