Mieno opens up on reason for Tusker’s good results

The Brewers have five wins from the opening five games.
Reigning league champions Tusker FC are the only side in the league yet to drop points with midfielder Humphrey Mieno revealing that teamwork has been behind their impressive form.
The win over KCB FC before the league went on a festive break made it 27 games unbeaten for the Brewers with their last defeat coming back in January against Nairobi City Stars.
Mieno noted that the camaraderie in the team has been immense for their unbeaten run this season which has seen them win all their opening five games.
“Our good run is because of hard work, all the players are working as a team and we understand our roles both individual and team roles.
For me it's the togetherness that leads to the good results that we have been getting this season,” said the former Gor Mahia midfielder.
Tusker closed the year with a 2-1 win over the Bankers which ensured they went into the break with a two-point buffer at the summit of the log with a game in hand over second-placed Nzoia Sugar.
The Brewers skipper also paid glowing tribute to Robert Matano who he admitted demands a lot from his team and has a winning mentality.
“He usually demands a lot from the players, so that hard work and wanting to win every time could be the reason for us always getting good results,” added Mieno.
