Michubu ready for FKFPL debut after settling at Bidco United

Bidco United creative midfielder Erick Michubu says the experience he gained in second edition of the Elite Pre-season Cup will go a long way in preparing him for his debut in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Michubu, nailed down playing time in the tournament that was meant to gauge the preparedness of various teams for the new season that is scheduled to kick off next weekend.

Bidco, floored Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 to win the title with Michubu helping create the winning goal as his header was deflected into the back of the net.

The midfielder tasted action in the first group stage match against Nairobi City Stars and, was used in the subsequent encounter against Rainbow FC.

Rainbow were promoted to the National Super League after winning the FKF Division One, Zone A league.

Michubu, who joined Bidco last month from MCF, said the experience he gained from the tournament and the other pre-season friendly matches continue to prepare him for league debut.

"The tournament helped get a taste of what is lying ahead of me as I have never played in the top flight before. We played against some of the top teams in the league and it was an exciting experience," said Michubu.

The performance the midfielder put in the final against Sharks earned him praises from coach Anthony Akhulia who, was left impressed with how he conducted himself on the pitch.

Apart from Michubu, Bidco, added other players in a bid to strengthen the squad ahead of the season as well as replace those who left after being deemed surplus to requirement and other reasons.

Before joining MCF, Michubu played for Murang'a Seal who secured automatic promotion alongside Shabana after sweeping the two top slots in the Super League.

He also played for the Mt. Kenya United team in the fourth tier.
